Get a job, slacker!

It's true. Ish. I mean, there's always something to do, but I really don't mind working on the weekend. It's working the other 5 days of the week, too, that has been wearing me down.

So, I've lightened the load a bit. I had to choose one of my three jobs to let go of, and unfortunately I went with the easiest one. Lenny - the pipsqueak I've been hanging out with since August will have to find a new playmate. I'm confident she'll be just fine, but did she have to be so EXTRA cute and cuddly today? It was like she KNEW or something.

The other two jobs (plus kindergarten volunteering) will continue, and I think I'll be better off actually having A day off of work. (I've worked every day since Feb. 5, and that will continue until March 11.) I've hit my stride with the UCSF paper and can crank out the three days of work in two. Teaching swimming lessons is still a huge joy (a huge, sometimes stressful, sometimes headache-and-other-pain-inducing joy, but a joy nonetheless) and I've gone full time there in order to get on their health plan.

Hmm... speaking of the health plan. The impetus for that was a run-in with a tomato can that left me with 3 stitches and a $1,600 ER bill. All things considered, I got off lucky, but I don't want to live the uninsured lifestyle any more.

And, to my dedicated readers, hopefully now you have a better understanding of why so much time passes between posts. I will try to keep on top of things a little bit better. God knows the stories haven't stopped happening...
