Okay, okay... this is not necessarily timely news, but last week was a little hectic.Last Sunday, against my better judgement and stated wishes, I was put on the mound for my team's softball game.
Now, check this out... the last time I pitched in a softball game, I was 12. Luckily, my overall level of play hasn't increased much in the ... GASP! ... nearly 20 years since (seriously... am I really old enough to have 20-year-old memories??), so the slow-pitch moves I had then were still all I needed now. And, you know what? I did a not-bad job! The game itself was sort of a blur because of some other reasons (the wind, the managerial duties also bestowed upon me, having fans in attendance, etc.), so I may not be 100% accurate, but I THINK I only walked in one run. Yes, yes... that means I walked four batters in a row... but that was just within the first two innings. As they say in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I got better!
Anyway... it was fun, I survived, I'm glad it's over.
(The same can be said for the annual conference we put on at work this past weekend. See? Two posts for the price of one!)
