Took a little trip back in time today... no flux capacitor necessary!
It's always fun to head back to Pleasanton, where I grew up, and more fun when there are people to catch up with.
Usually, trips through P-ton don't amount to much. Just a drive-by of old favorite places, my grandparent's house, a former school or two and then on to whatever the intended destination is (usually Livermore or Tracy to do something with The Littles).
But today I got a chance to go there and hang out. I met up with Jules for lunch at Straw Hat pizza - a weekly (at least) lunch spot for us during our RMC days. The trip down memory lane continued with a drive to downtown Pleasanton and a visit with some of the old Coffee Roast Express family.
CRE was my first real- and, for many years, main-fall-back job. Absolutely loved working there (except when I hated it) and easily have about 6,034 memory files dedicated to all aspects of the CRE world. (Ever want to know how to make a cafe fantasia? Just ask me... I'll break out the Orgeat and we'll go crazy.)
Anyway... it was a nice day hanging out downtown, chatting with Ed and Diane (the owners) and Kris (a longtime manager) for a while. It's neat to recharge all of those memories every now and again.
