Well, that covers that.
In other news, I'm proud to share that I passed the CSET exam, a doozy of a test I had to take in order to apply for the credential program at SFSU. Passing it essentially (or supposedly) proves that I am qualified to teach multiple subjects.
As some folks know, I was pretty apprehensive about the exam. Why? Well, first there's the test itself, which is actually THREE subtests. Because I am a certified procrastinator, I had to take all three in one day. Those who plan ahead tend to take them one at a time, but oh how I love a challenge. Subtest 1 covers language and history, Subtest 2 is math and science and Subtest 3 is music, visual/performing arts, phys ed and human development. Piece of cake, right? Suuure.
Not surprisingly, I feared the math/science test the most. As I studied for that test in particular, I remembered learning a lot of the concepts - in high school. The test is geared for teaching K-8, so I was either in some slow-ass classes in high school, or elementary school is way different now.
Anyway, I don't know the details of how I scored on the three subtests. I just received three emails from the test administrators saying "Pass." That was good enough for me. Now I guess I need to start tracking down those transcripts and write my personal statement.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
